Training Requirements

All members: CPR/AED for Healthcare Providers, First Aid (non EMT's), blood borne pathogen awareness, hazmat awareness, CBRNE (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, explosives) awareness, Incident Command System 100, 200, NIMS 700 & 800a.

Drivers: CEVO III plus all of above.

EMT's: EMT-B, CEU's as required for recertification, all of above (except first aid) plus ICS 300 for line officers.


All NJ EMT's must find courses through using their EMT number and password. All required courses including CEU courses are listed and can be scheduled there. Members may take certain required courses online, like those below. At the end of each course is a test and a completion certificate which must be printed and brought to the squad offices. EMT's should register for these courses through to receive proper CEU credit.

ICS 100.a-- Introduction to Incident Command
ICS 200.a-- Single Resources and Single Incidents (CEU's not awarded by NJ for online version)

New members who need CPR, First Aid and EMT courses should consult with squad officers who will assist them in finding the appropriate courses. Training for initial EMT courses and CEU Cores 1-13 are without cost for EMT's of the Rescue Squad with one of the completed forms below. Elective courses may be paid for by the Scotchwood Training Alliance or by the individual.
